Retaliation

It is unlawful to fire, suspend, demote, threaten, harass or otherwise discriminate against an employee for engaging in protected activity in the workplace, including complaining about discrimination, and requesting to be paid in accordance with the law.  Undocumented workers are also protected from unlawful retaliation which includes protection against threats of deportation by the employer.  We recognize that there may be concerns about moving forward with a legal claim due to fear of retaliation.  That is why we speak at length with our clients to explain the legal process and the different options that may exist for them to proceed with a claim.  We have successfully represented workers of various backgrounds, including immigrant and undocumented workers, successfully defending them against retaliation by their employer.
